We would love for everyone of the children/youth attending our church to have the option of attending an Adventist School. Of course we no longer have one here in Merced, but as soon as there are enough parents who want to get a school going, we will seriously look into starting one up again.
CVCA - Kindergarten through 12th grade. We've two students who live in Turlock who attend the elementary school.
Chowchilla - This is closer, and is a Kindergarten through 8th grade option. We currently have no students attending this school.
MBA - This is our conference's boarding academy. And we've 3 students attending there - who actually moved to stay locally, so we don't see them too often these days.
Of course, we know it is not simply logistics that have to be navigated. Adventist education works very hard to maintain very high standards. This means it costs a lot of money to attend.
We have a vested interest in CVCA academy as our "local" academy. However, we will accept all requests from members of our church.
Some things to know:
- You must be a member of the Olive East Seventh-day Adventist church to be considered. Either the parent/guardian, and/or the student.
- We do not supply any aid for colleges. Unfortunately, this is just simply out of our league.
- You will have to declare income and expenses to the finance committee.
April is the month we start inviting applications for the following year. We are not officially a first come first served committee, but it does not hurt to get to the front of the line. It helps us as we plan the budget.
